Visiting an old haunt of mine from my internship days in Venus, Florida!
Hi my name is Corinna but my friends call me Cori and you're welcome to as well! My background is everything to do with the environment. I grew up in the mountains of northern California, went to school for wildlife biology in the coastal redwoods and in the deserts of southern California.
I have a B.S. Degree in Wildlife Biology, a MFA in Filmmaking and Documentary, and am currently working on a second MFA in Illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design. My love of travel started very young, with commuting between my mom's house in the mountains surrounding Redding, CA and my dad's in the bay area. My family would travel up to Oregon and Washington every year for sturgeon fishing season, as well as taking many trips south for ATV excursions into the desert. Family vacations growing up included caravans of RVs into Baja California, Mexico, flying to Hawaii, and cruises to the Caribbean, among many others.
My dad and I would tent camp at least once a month, sometimes more, and my love of the outdoors grew as I went into my undergraduate program at CalPoly Humboldt. I then started traveling twice a year for student wildlife conferences around the country including places like Tuscon, Arizona all the way to Miami, Florida. After graduation I continued to take cross country trips of my own, visiting friends in Wyoming, New Mexico, and a summer internship in Venus, Florida. After I moved to Los Angeles, CA I continued to travel during my studies. We went to Texas and Georgia to film undercover at rattlesnake roundups, and even took a crew of seven to Colombia, South America in 2014 and spent 28 days traveling around filming in awe of that amazing country.
My goal now is to continue my travels, and to help others take their own unforgettable journeys wherever the road takes them (or airplane, train, or boat!). Because I am keenly aware of my own impacts on the environment as I travel I'm quite sure others are as well. So for those like-minded individuals who want to do a little something to help balance out their footprints on the world, I have created EcoPlanet Travel Agency. My goal is to eventually have every one of my clients' (and mine too) trips be completely carbon neutral, but as a start we are going to be donating at least 10% of our proceeds directly to projects we hand pick with every booking. I want to help every client and prospective client be a bit more aware of their impact, so I am encouraging everyone to select a project from our list or provide one they want to support specifically and we'll do the rest! I look forward to getting to know each one of you and can't wait to help you make the best memories of your life.
